Kathmandu, Februrary 20

A cab driver in Kathmandu has returned cash and jewelry worth over Rs 350,000 forgotten in his taxi to the rightful owner.

According to police, 38-year-old Simal Rai from Dharan, returned the valuables to  28-year-old Basanta Bhushal of Gulmi, who had forgotten her valiables on the cab during a ride from Anamnagar to Naikap recently.

Rai is learnt to have approached city police with the valuables. Inspector Keshav Bhatta said that the valuables were handed over to Bhushal’s sister Sonia, who lives in New Baneshwor.

Cab drivers have dubious reputation in Kathmandu, where they have been accused of fleecing customers and not providing service by running on meter,
