NSJF, Pulsar extend deal for Sports Award

Kathmandu, May 26

Nepal Sports Journalists Forum extended the sponsorship deal Hansraj Hulaschand and Company Pvt Ltd for the Pulsar Sports Award here today.

NSJF President Durganath Subedi and Executive Director of Hansraj Hulaschand and Company Abhimanyu Golchha exchanged the memorandum of understanding for the 16th edition of the Award slated for July 2 at Nepal Academy.

As per the MoU, Hansraj Hulaschand and Company will provide the NSJF with Rs 2.85 million in cash and kind for the award. In return, Pulsar will be the title sponsor of the event.

Hansraj Hulaschand and Company Executive Director, Golchha said the Award was the platform for the athletes.

“Sports has a common language and it is the only platform that brings the people together,” said Golchha.

“We are into the ninth year of the partnership and we are proud to announce Pulsar will be sponsoring the Sports Award this year as well,” he added. “This year we are providing the NSJF with Rs 1.1 million in cash, four NS160 Pulsar motorcycles and 30 Timex wrist watches,” he informed.

NSJF President Subedi thanked the sposnors for their relentless support for the sake of sports and athletes.

“This is not just a programme of an organisation, the Pulsar Sports Award has become a national event where we felicitate athletes from various disciplines,” said Subedi.

NSJF General Secretary Pajwal Oli informed the Award featured 10 categories — Player of the year (male), PoY (female) and PoY (youth), coach of the year, People’s Choice, Para-athlete, Special, Lifetime Achievement, Team of the Year and International Asian Sports Journalist. Winners in four categories — male, female, coach and people’s choice — will receive Pulsar NS160 motorcycles each, while others will get Rs 50,000 apiece.
