84,215 appear for Korean Language Test, 156 fake examinees arrested

Kathmandu, June 9

The two-day Korean Language Test (KLT), which was conducted by the Employment Permit System (EPS) of South Korea, for Nepali job aspirants concluded today.

According to EPS Korea Section under the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE), altogether 84,215 job aspirants across the country participated in the exam this year. The EPS Section further informed that 8,141 applicants were absent for the test.

Krishna Prasad Khanal, director of EPS Section, said that a total of 156 fake examinees were arrested during the two-day exam.

In total, 92,356 job seekers had submitted their applications for the KLT at EPS Korea Section in April.

Among the applicants, 63,487 aspirants have applied for jobs in the production sector and 28,889 in the agriculture sector.

The government conducted the exams through 32 centres, including 21 in Kathmandu, seven in Lalitpur and four in Pokhara this year.

The Korean government recruits migrant workers from 16 countries including Nepal and the skill test provision has already been implemented in all the other countries. This year the skill test provision will be implemented in Nepal too.
